Sometimes the music just speaks to me, like when Lenny Kravitz told that woman to get away from me even though she politely asked me If it was a crime as Sade sang to me.
Sometimes I just want to hop in my Spaceship and fly away like Kanye West because I have been working this 9 to 5 and my drive has diminished ever since I started this day.
Sometimes Little Stevie Wonder plays the right key of A minor for me as he unlocks my emotions using the Key of life.
Sometimes my words spew out as Organized Noize to those who do not incline their ear to hear the soul-food that I’m serving.
Sometimes I want to be like Prince and capture that essence of a crying dove that soars like a hawk whenever music is near him.
Sometimes Love speaks through Musiq Soulchild with the love of understanding India Arie as she explains how she is ready for Love.
Sometimes Chante’ Moore whispers softly to me as she lets me know that every things gonna be alright.
Sometimes I’m reminded about the journeys that I’ve taken with Dave Hollister and how I can not say good night without kissing her.
Sometimes Blackstreet takes me to that place of going crazy because I start to think of the hurt I would feel if she left me.
Sometimes Patti LaBelle holds me and tells me that the somebody that loves me is her.
Sometimes R. Kelly speaks from his heart and writes a symphony of love letters to speak to the hearts of us all.

“Young artists have no sense of history….It’s as if what preceded them is of no value or never really happened…Young artists in particular don’t want to acknowledge antecedents. I’m not really interested in recuperating history and I’m certainly not interested in romantic nostalgia for the past, but I’m very aware of the history of art that preceded me. Every artist works through history.”
